PT-141 (Bremelanotide)

PT-141, also known as bremelanotide, is a synthetic peptide and melanocortin-receptor agonist. It is studied in laboratory research involving melanocortin signalling, neurological pathways and receptor activity.

A specific prescription formulation of bremelanotide is FDA-approved under the brand name Vyleesi for a narrowly defined medical condition in certain adult premenopausal women. That approval applies only to the authorised prescription product and does not extend to separately manufactured products labelled PT-141 or bremelanotide.
