Tesamorelin

Tesamorelin is a synthetic analogue of human growth hormone-releasing factor (GRF/GHRH). It is studied for its interaction with pituitary growth-hormone signalling, insulin-like growth factor-1 activity, metabolic pathways and body-composition biology.

Specific prescription formulations of tesamorelin, including EGRIFTA products, are FDA-approved for reducing excess abdominal fat in adults with HIV and lipodystrophy. They are not approved as general weight-loss treatments. This approval applies only to authorised prescription formulations and does not extend to independently manufactured research products labelled as tesamorelin.
